Located just 4mi. East of Charleston, Illinois right along Illinois State Highway Route 16, The Charleston Speedway provides the most exciting racing events around. Built in 1964 by the late Olin Humphres, The Charleston Speedway has been providing Family Friendly Entertainment for All Ages! The comfortable and iconic covered grandstands offer seating sections at both ends for (BYOB) alcohol consumption, while the entire center section is reserved for families.
The Speedway has enjoyed national sactioning from DIRTcar Racing for many years. This national sanctioning provides oversight for all our divisions, creating rules and implimenting them from track to track, all across the county. DIRTcar Modified, DIRTcar Pro Modified, DIRTcar Pro Late Model, DIRTcar Stock Car, and DIRTcar Hornet are the divisions that have this sanction and compete on a weekly basis. Although special events are typically sprinkled into the schedule throughout the season, fans have come to expect a GREAT NIGHT of Stock Car Auto Racing at The Charleston Speedway. Fans enjoy a front row seat to side-by-side, wheel-to-wheel racing action; lap after lap.

To help our fans enjoy their evening, our staff works exhaustively to ensure a smooth operating program that is incredibly efficient. Often is the case that our events are completed by 10:30-11pm which gives the fans an enjoyable evening of entertainement, while allowing them to return home at a decent hour.
